So you’ve heard about THE POP-UP WEDDING…now I want to introduce you to our wedding couple, Carolyn and Ryan Luhning.  Who better to introduce them than Ryan himself?  Here’s a word from the groom…

This beautiful girl walked into HMV (where I was working at the time) and proceeded to go straight to the Soundtrack section. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She looked at me… walked right up and said “Do you have Breakin’ 2 Electric Boogaloo?” I said :  “Ah… no.”  She said thanks and walked out. I looked over at my co-worker and said to him “I’m gonna marry that girl someday.” Two weeks later we met again serendipitously in the Drama Department at the U of C and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. That was almost 20 years ago. When we got married in 1998 we were surrounded by friends and family and we did it on our terms. It was in a theatre, rose petals all over the floor, friends did a modern dance to celebrate our love and we wrote our own vows. It was a day to remember and one we will always cherish.

This year we are coming up on our 16th year of marriage and each passing year we grow stronger as a couple because we are dedicated to do so. We have two beautiful girls, Grace (9) and Peyton (5) and a renewed energy towards life, family and each other. We actually planned on renewing our vows a couple of years ago but our youngest was just born and time became a factor. But now is the perfect time to do so as we have a renewed energy towards our family and ourselves and our love is stronger than ever. We are very excited for the upcoming “ceremony” and will bring to it what we bring to everything we do: love, energy and passion!

If Ryan looks familiar to you, it’s because he’s the Artistic Director at Ground Zero Theatre and will be starring in Closer, March 21st through April 5th.

A POP-UP ENGAGEMENT

Before there’s a Pop-up Wedding, there has to be a Pop-up Engagement right?  On Tuesday March 18th at 10:30 am, we’re inviting Calgary Brides and Grooms to join us in Kensington for Carolyn and Ryan’s engagement photo shoot.  Just in time for your coffee break, we’ll be meeting at Kensington Riverside Inn and wandering through the neighbourhood taking photographs.  If you’ve ever wondered what an e-session is like, grab a latte and watch this engagement photo shoot, Tara Whittaker style.  Vered Amir, hair and make-up artist, will be transforming Carolyn into her most beautiful self.  I hope you’ll join us!
