DIY Downton – Simple centrepieces made from fresh greenery

When it came to creating an elegant centrepiece for the Downton Abbey shoot, we took our cue from the show itself.

We started with a candelabra and long tapers. Sarah Mayerson provided loose greens for the project. At Sarah’s recommendation, we used seeded eucalyptus, sword fern, and salal. The greens were kept cool in water overnight and the day of the shoot, they were casually arranged around the candelabra. No vase required. This is an arrangement that could be easily translated to a modern affair.
